Debbie attended Connecticut College and the New York School of Interior Design.  In the early 1990’s after a career in interior design and as the owner of a decorative accessories business, Debbie began studying botanical illustration at the New York Botanical Garden.  She remained enthralled with painting flowers and vegetables until her grandsons began appearing and then her free spirit took over and she began painting delightful whimsical creatures and designs. Thus, The Birth Day Boat came into being.  To keep her hand in more serious artistic endeavors, Debbie attends watercolor classes and workshops in Rhode Island and New York City.  She lives with her husband and beloved small poodle, Timmy, in Newport, RI and enjoys visiting with her 4 grandsons whenever possible.
